Charles provides spiritual insight for readers who have chosen to lead life their way and walk according to their desires, who have lost direction in their life, as the author has done so many times in the past in his own life, only to find themselves in similar situations with nowhere to turn (exposed and trapped out on a ledge) in need of rescue. 


God alone knows what is ahead for a person. God often leads people into the wilderness, as he did Moses and the children of Israel and as He did His own Son Jesus, to lead them straight to Him! The ledge Charles experienced high on the mountain that day is a blessing you do not want to miss and is one that can be found only in the wilderness experiences of life.  


Charles shares his “ledged out” mountain climbing adventure as a metaphor for the ways God reaches those who have lost their direction in life: and serves to show that the ledges of life are in actuality opportunities for God to show us just how much He loves us. When no one else cares, He does. When no one else can help us, He can!   


As with Abraham in the Bible, who went out by faith not knowing where he was going, we don’t have to know everything to follow the leading of God in our lives, but when we reach the ledges in life that offer no good options, there is One that remains and is always faithful to rescue us from the continuous and certain miss-steps of our own pursuits.  


Just as God rescued him on that North Georgia Mountain, Charles believes anyone looking for God will be found by Him when no other solution will work.
